Mrs. Vera Margaret Ross Reid was born the
seventh of ten children to the union of Allen and Margarette
Thomas on February 11, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan.
Vera was educated in the Detroit Public Schools and was a
graduate of Northern High School.
Vera entered into marriage twice to Earl Ross and James Reid.
From these unions ten children were born: Margaret Parham, Denice
Ross, Deborah Rushing, Diane Ross (deceased), Carolyn Ross, Earl Ross,
Janice Reid, Yolunda Hall, Douglas Reid and Michael Reid.
Vera Margaret Ross Reid departed this life on February 26,
2010. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters: Vivian Harris,
Alfreda Burrell and Dolphus Shaw; nine children; thirty-one
grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
many, many dear friends.
